About me ● Acerca de mi

This blog puts together a sample of the different works done by me -Designerhands- a Chilean artist, designer, illustrator and artisan. I studied fashion design but most of my working years were as graphic designer (I come from a family of artists, publicists and designers). Living in other countries, changed my life forever… I call England my second home and second love of my life.

I love to do things with my hands, hence my nickname. From painting to sewing, to woodworking, jewellery making, decoration is another passion of mine (yes I do move the furniture around more often than I should)… I just can’t stand still.

I create inspired in diverse cultural manifestations from my country and the world. Most of my products or pieces have the added value of being unique and usually one of a kind, unless someone is interested in having a reproduction of one particular piece.

The paintings, most done in pencil colours, answer to the purpose of  re vindicate and take this medium to its right place among the arts being able to produce pieces of great beauty and significance. I feel passionate about this,  when in my country pencil colours are considered only a kid’s thing!

The Eklektikos Tarot, a co creation between my husband and I, is also unique and exclusive, being still a work in progress, came out of a need and interest in create a deck that would unified universal and particular symbolism, where nature will have an important and always present role. A Tarot of  comprehension, value and interest for a world without frontiers.

I would like to get the complete nativity set with animals and the trees I live on limited income 99 percent of all the yarn and thread is donated because it is my therapy. I donate any money to Domestic Victims and also Hiv survivors and Cancer survivors and Kids in hospitals I donate toys I crochet and little hats I make like characters. I would love some patterns for any animals for kids and the nativity scenes because nursing homes don’t allow the ceramic sets in the rooms. Being physically challenged and having PTSD and depression along with anxiety is hard to deal with so that is why I use the computer for looking up patterns and unusual things and crochet and also needlework.

    • Hi Renee, I will be contacting you directly through your email in the future. I haven’t yet make a proper pattern for the nativity with pictures and all that, but I will, although it takes a long time to do it. If you want the patterns without photos, let me know and I will send them for you through your email.
The tree patterns are easily found online.
      Blessings to you!
